Singapore is the UK’s largest trading partner in South-East Asia and one of its largest export markets outside Europe. UK exports of goods and services were worth £5.7 billion in 2007. The UK is also the largest investor into Singapore with over 700 UK companies based there. Singapore is an international financial centre and trading hub for the region, with excellent transport communications. It is the fourth largest foreign exchange trading centre in the world. In addition, English is the official language. Singapore also has a reliable legal system, based on English law, providing strong IP protection.

Ranked number-one globally by the World Bank in its ‘Ease of Doing Business’ report, Singapore constitutes an ideal springboard to South-East Asia.

This event will examine the economic and trade developments in Singapore in recent years and update you on the ever-developing business opportunities.
