Location: Slaley Hall Hotel, Northumberland

Dates: 16-17 July 2003

This Forum  was organised jointly by APTN (Asia-Pacific Technology Network) and the Japan Economic Foundation. ONE NorthEast was the major sponsor.

The Conference started with official speeches and then involved two half-day plenary sessions. There were seven parallel sessions (each lasting half a day) which were held on the other two half days.

MONDAY 14 - WEDNESDAY 16 JULY 2003

A separate-but-related UK-Japanese conference was held in Newcastle on "Horizons in Ageing and Health - New Targets for Therapies". The leading conclusions from this conference were fed into the subsequent UK-Japan Forum (Ageing Plenary - Day 2).

TUESDAY 15 JULY 2003

Japanese delegation flew into Newcastle: There was a relatively informal welcoming reception, hosted by ONE NorthEast at the Slaley Hall Hotel.

WEDNESDAY 16 - THURSDAY 17 JULY 2003
