The objective of the seminar is to highlight the opportunities for UK SMEs to partner with Asian organisations through offshoring/outsourcing IT and business processes. The seminar will explore how SMEs can increase their competitiveness through a combination of achieving cost savings, technical flexibility, high quality and new revenue streams in some of the world's largest and fastest growing markets.

Mervyn Levin, Founding Director, Levering Ltd, will focus on China's proposition for outsourcing. Mervyn is a frequent visitor to a wide range of China's cities and has an extensive network of contacts in central and provincial government, as well as first hand experience of many of China's outsourcing companies. He is a Council Member of China's Import and Export Software Network and a speaker at outsourcing summits across China. 

Mark Kobayashi-Hillary
Mark Kobayashi‐Hillary is a British writer with a history of commenting on technology, outsourcing, globalisation, and corporate change. He is one of the best‐known European experts on corporate change and globalisation and is a frequent media commentator. He has written the following books:

Yu Zhao (Ryan)

Douglas B. Andrews
A senior multinational healthcare industry executive and entrepreneur, with 30 years’ experience in global pharmaceutical and medical technology markets, including sales & marketing, product licensing, M&A, organizational start-up, country and regional management. Founded and raised venture capital for the first European „virtual“ generic pharmaceutical company. Subsequently created a holding company to acquire dermatology companies/products in Europe and the USA. Principal current venture focuses on healthcare products and technology trading among China, Europe and the USA.

Stravencon Ltd. (www.stravencon.com) provides a product and technology trading platform for Chinese life science companies to enter the regulated markets of Europe and North America.  Negotiated 50/50 Joint Venture with a top 10 Chinese pharmaceutical company which will be the exclusive conduit for that firm’s products to enter the European market. Signed MOU’s with four other leading Chinese biopharmaceutical companies for exclusive European marketing and distribution rights covering a broad range of specialty generics, including anti-infectives, oncology and associated generics and biosimilars.  Negotiating European marketing rights with major Chinese suppliers of diagnostic and class 2/3 medical devices. Also assisting European and American healthcare companies to contract with development and marketing partners in China.
