Speakers
This IIC UK Chapter event will touch on one of the most talked about topics in today’s communications world: the rise in importance of wireless not just for voice but for next generation access and high-speed broadband. As the ‘digital dividend’ proved one of the more contentious parts of the negotiations over the review of the EU Telecoms Framework in Britain, Digital Britain is suggesting the development of a ‘mobile broadband plan’, the Independent Spectrum Broker is proposing a radical, holistic approach to resolving the current impasse over new releases of spectrum vital for broadband uses, whilst debates abound in the UK over whether and to what extent wireless technologies are the key to ‘broadband-enabling’ the digitally-excluded and rural and remote communities. Olswang’s Colin Long will moderate the debate and tease out the issues that make spectrum a buzzword again today.
