The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) are organizing Invest Japan Symposium 2008 in London on 14th November, 2008 to highlight investment opportunities in the Japanese market and to promote further business activities between Japan and the UK.
The Japanese government is active in promoting foreign direct investment into Japan by setting a target to make the stock value of FDI reach around 5% of the GDP by the end of 2010. There is no doubt that East Asia will thrive as the driving force of the global economy in the years to come and in order to present Japan as the strategic base to the region. It is also necessary to develop understanding amongst the key decision makers in businesses with regard to the current attractions of the Japanese economy.
We are celebrating the 150th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the UK and Japan. Based on the highly skilled manufacturing that both economies see their roots in, we have been building and will continue to build a firm partnership in creating new values through innovations to the global economy.
By presenting the opportunities in the regions and the attractions of Japan as the gateway to Asia, we hope to raise British leading business executives the awareness of Japan as the venue for creating new values
