This research seminar is part of a series on the History of Japanese investment in the UK (the project is being funded by the Great Britain-Sasakawa Foundation). This follows on from initial seminars on the electronics and R&D sectors. Subsequent seminars will cover automobiles and financial services. Louis Turner will briefly give an overview of historical developments in the particular sector, to be followed by Dr Takihiro Hirasawa and Ray Rees who will describe the deepening of Eisai's involvement in the British research scene. David Brocklebank will reflect on his experiences of working with the Japanese pharma industry, including both Kissei and Mitsubishi Pharma. These seminars are being hosted by the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation and being supported by the Japan Society.
