This practical, interactive course will provide manufacturers with the skills required to understand how to fully comply with the national RoHS regulations and includes exercises to help delegates put what they have learnt into practice.
The EU RoHS Directive (2002/95/EC) which places restrictions on the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, has been in force now for over 18 months. The UK RoHS enforcement body, National Weights and Measures Laboratory (NWML) are finding that most products they see are not fully compliant, due to difficulties experienced in the interpretation of materials declarations certificates. This course will cover: • Compliance approaches that are acceptable to RoHS enforcement bodies • Where RoHS substances are likely to be present • How to interpret materials declaration certificates • What to do if you are not certain that a part is not compliant • Records and data that enforcement bodies will expect to see on request • What is due diligence?
