TUESDAY 20 MAY 2008

First seminar in a series comparing Chinese and Indian performance in specific sectors.

Chair

Speakers:

This is the first seminar in a series comparing Chinese and Indian performance in specific sectors. In Aviation, both India and China are faced with an explosive domestic demand, with a resultant demand for airport expansion, along side growing strains on air control systems, airline maintenance etc. At the same time, new entrants are challenging established domestic airlines, while liberalising trends in the global industry mean that "Western" airlines are seeking to deepen their penetration of both markets.

This seminar will seek to paint a picture of developments in these two key fast-growing countries. What are the opportunities for Western airlines, aerospace manufacturers and suppliers of aviation infrastructure? To what extent will India and China produce companies (be they airlines or suppliers) which will challenge the underlying competitive dynamics of the global industry?
